Since the weekend, the state security of the Düsseldorf police has been investigating an incident that took place in Düsseldorf’s old town late on Friday evening. A 17-year-old was insulted because of his religious affiliation and bumped into by a suspect. According to the investigations to date, the 17-year-old was on the street at Neustraße during the night from Friday to Saturday. At that time there was also a group of about ten young men here. From this group, the young person wearing an Israeli flag badge and a kippa was insulted. Furthermore, one of the men bumped into him in such a way that the 17-year-old was in temporary pain. About an hour later, the young man approached a patrol and reported the incident to the officers, who immediately filed a complaint. Based on the young man’s account, the investigators assume that he committed an anti-Semitic crime. The suspects are said to be between 18 and 23 years of age. They had black hair and black beards. Some of them wore white T-shirts. According to the teenager, they have a southern or North African appearance.
